Client Feedback

The Beyond the Womb experience, in their words.

We believe in care that’s personal, powerful, and truly transformative — and our clients agree. Here’s what families have shared about their journey with us:

Danyelle was an AMAZING Doula! Pre-delivery, during delivery, and post-delivery she was a true savior! Pre-delivery, she listened to my wants and needs, and I didn’t feel like she imposed her beliefs and wants on me. Some doulas are very opinionated about hospitals and healthcare systems, and they project their fears and mistrust onto you, but Danyelle listened and followed my lead. We had a rock-solid birth plan that we worked on for weeks to ensure that I understood what childbirth would entail and what the possible interventions were. She did exercises and stretches with me that significantly helped in my 3rd trimester to alleviate pressure and pain. We practiced breathing and positioning to help me prepare for birth. Unfortunately, my birth plan went completely out the window once I was in a severe car accident and my baby had to be delivered 5 weeks early. As soon as I notified Danyelle, she was at the hospital within 2 hours. Mind you, she was at work and lived over an hour away from where I was when I called her. The availability, calmness, and support she offered me during that time will never be forgotten. With a broken shoulder, and no drugs (until the last second where the epidural was placed but I never got the medicine...long story lol) Danyelle helped me welcome my beautiful baby girl into this world! She held my good hand, rubbed my back, and even gave me her sneakers to wear while she wore socks to ensure that my birth experience was not awful. Having a doula speak when I couldn’t, and champion me, and clear the room when my family was stressing me out was a true blessing. I am not having any more kids, lol, but if I did, Danyelle would be my first call. Post-delivery, she stayed with me overnight in the hospital to help me take care of the baby since my shoulder was broken, and she did home visits after to check on us. I am forever grateful to her for all that she did for me and my family. Let this be the sign you need to pick Danyelle as your Doula. She is a genuine soul and has a true passion for this. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend!

Danyelle is the best! I’ve never had a doula before but felt it was needed this go round just in case I needed an advocate for my birth. And thank god for her because I had the worst team during my labor! I was one of Danyelle’s first clients. She was new to the game but so eager to learn and start her doula journey. Everyone has to start somewhere! From the moment she took me on as her client, she gave me her all. She made plans to meet every so often and made sure to plan ahead of time so our schedules could work together. She was very empathetic and knowledgeable and could relate in ways because she is a mother herself. With any question that I had that she did not have the answer to, she made sure to find the correct answer before she gave me a maybe answer. She checked on me after every baby appointment to see how things were and how I was feeling. Each visit I had with Danyelle, we made more adjustments to my birth plan to make it the best day it could be for when my baby arrived. If we were not working on my birth plan, she was offering tools to help me with any pregnancy symptoms I was having to help me feel better as I grew. At some of our visits, she not only showed me but also my partner stretches I could to help before and during labor to help make labor easier on my body. I loved that Danyelle did not only want this experience to be great for me but also my partner so she made sure to make our appointments with also my partner at times to make sure he was prepared as well. I ended up being induced and Danyelle made all of her arrangements in her personal life to accommodate to me when I needed her. She stayed over night in the hospital with me and advocated for me while my partner was at my side supporting me. I unfortunately did not have a great team during labor and Danyelle made sure to let them know they needed to do better. She made sure my hospital stay was as best as it could be while she was with me. She set up my room for me in a calming atmosphere and brought her labor tools that I could use to help things move along that I actually used and it actually helped! During labor, Danyelle took all the pictures for me and my partner to make sure we had all the memories. After labor, she made sure that I was in a place mentally where I would be okay without her so I could enjoy my baby and get some rest. She set up apps on my phone to help me with a schedule and breast feeding and when she did leave, she made sure to check on me frequently and made a date down the road for when we would meet again for postpartum. I don’t know what I would’ve done without her care. She truly gives her all as she is so passionate about her job!

Note from my partner- Danyelle was good with getting us prepared for the hospital and helped with questions we may be asked at the hospital. She let me rest when I needed it and she was there to keep the mother of my child calm and relaxed as possible. She hung positive affirmations throughout the room and was just all around helpful. She took most of the pictures as well.
